Just do NOT picture the audience in their underwear, Petey, if you get that nervous.

After all my griping yesterday, I guess I owe you an update in the Francis situation.

Yesterday I went in for my appointment with her pastor, and found myself in a meeting that included not only a quite upset preacher, but a concerned CPA, an interested Prosecuting Attorney and a Forensic Computer Investigator. Last night the pastor called in a member of the church board, a CPA to look at the church books because Francis is, or was, the church treasurer. The CPA called in the FCI because they needed to get past her password to see the church books.

Apparently she was a little more than dirty. Not only did she charge the church for embossing I did for free, but she embezzled about twenty-four thousand dollars from the church. Francis was called to the church for a two o’clock meeting where she was arrested.

The pastor said that because I am not a member of his congregation, I should not be expected to donate my work to his church. I will be reimbursed for the work I already did for the church, and I will continue to do the Sunday School materials and the Sunday bulletin until they can get a Braille Embosser of their own, but I will get paid for it.

Now my wife is really bent, I put her best friend in jail and I am in the d*g house. Letame si Verifica.

What else happened? I went to see the blind boss of the guy down the street. I documented what he had me do and the costs I had incurred embossing the documents he wanted Brailled. Mr boss man said that there are two Braille
embossers in the company offices, and he can get his papers embossed at company expense quite easily. All he has to do is spend half an hour or so learning what to do.

The boss had a check cut for me and had a talk with my near neighbor. I won’t be printing for him any more. .

I submitted my bills for services to my nineteen other neighbors. Predictably half were upset that I wanted my costs paid. The other half saw my predicament and know that like them I have a short budget, and they settled up on the spot except two who are short of cash this time of the month. As is predictable, the ones that objected to being billed were the ones that had the biggest billed, the ones that abused and over used my courtesy.

The half that didn’t like being called to account for their embossing work, and complained to Lorraine. So I am in deep hot water, and tonight she is sleeping in the guest suite.

By the time all the Peteys get up on stage, the recital may be over. Or the audience may dash from their seats screaming about some weird replications on stage!

With “best friends” such as Francis, your wife – and you – don’t need enemies. You are very fortunate that you managed to get things straightened out as easily.

Actually I play the theatre pipe organ, (which is voiced differently than a liturgical organ,) and trumpet. I can also play most keyboards.
