Richard Thompson's Cul de Sac, is a comic strip about the life of a pre-school girl named Alice Otterloop. It is a light-hearted comic strip centered around a four-year old girl and her suburban life experiences on a cul-de-sac with her friends Beni and Dill, older brother Petey and her classmates at Blisshaven Academy pre-school. Alice describes her father's car as a "Honda-Tonka Cuisinart" and talks to the class guinea pig, Mr. Danders. She has the typical older brother who plays jokes on her, and she contemplates ways to keep the scary clown from jumping out of the jack-in-the-box with friends.

A man pulled up next to a young girl walking home from school and said “If you get in, I’ll give you a candy bar.”
The girl kept walking.
Following along slowly, the man said “Come on and get in the car with me and I’ll give you two candy bars.”
She kept her eyes on the sidewalk and continued on her way.
The man said “Get in with me and I’ll give you this whole bag of candy bars!”
Finally, the girl turned and said… “Look daddy, YOU bought that stupid looking car, YOU ride in it!!!”

Peter may seem to be a party-pooper, but doing donuts in the classroom, even with his Honda-Tonka Cuisinart, could be dangerous. So, I commend Mr. Otterloop’s unacknowledged prudence and his bravery in not doing what Alice wanted!

Dad obviously didn’t want to be sent to the principal’s office.

Amazing that Alice, so small herself, perceives her father’s car as being “tiny.” They’re both small, but the car is still bigger than Alice. It’s all in the point of view.

No fun at all.

Dad’s car is too small to do “donuts”. Perhaps tomorrow he can try a few cheerios…

There is probably a sign in the classroom asking parents to not do donuts around the teachers.
