Richard Thompson's Cul de Sac, is a comic strip about the life of a pre-school girl named Alice Otterloop. It is a light-hearted comic strip centered around a four-year old girl and her suburban life experiences on a cul-de-sac with her friends Beni and Dill, older brother Petey and her classmates at Blisshaven Academy pre-school. Alice describes her father's car as a "Honda-Tonka Cuisinart" and talks to the class guinea pig, Mr. Danders. She has the typical older brother who plays jokes on her, and she contemplates ways to keep the scary clown from jumping out of the jack-in-the-box with friends.

I continue to think that 20-year-old Calvin and Hobbes and 10-year-old Cul de Sac are better than 90% of today’s stuff. Thanks for the reruns, GoComics!

Alice is so helpful to us (and Nara and Dill) with her exposition of the history and motto of Blisshaven Academy!
But it is a little saddening to see Dill’s theory of the Giant Chicken refuted….

I strongly agree

Dill, you’re assuming that Petey and the giant chicken are two separate entities.

You are right, there, Richard. These are the champagne of cartoon strips.

And I’ll add 60 year old Peanuts to that.

Sadly the percentage is higher than 90%.

And I have a feeling this sentiment is shared with most comic strip authors.

Hi, gang. Is this strip being rerun from the beginning? I just got into Cul-de-Sac a few months ago, on the tail end, so to speak. I like it a lot!

@SharkNose
Yes, it is being rerun. Mr. Thompson has Parkinson’s and cannot contine writing the strip. We are luck enough to see it from the beginning.
