Eat the “ghost pepper” tortillas and you might just wish you would die. If you thought habaneros are deadly … !

Looks like the chef special is going to be a custom-er creation.

And it’s not only hot peppers! A favorite story I tell is from the years I had a big garden. Peppers were easy to grow and they produced so voluminously, that as a result I grew all kinds and then froze them for winter use.
One time I had six 5-gallon buckets of big green bell peppers. I spent hours chopping them up by hand to stuff into quart-size baggies. Mission accomplished, and I went to … uh … relieve myself (#1). I hadn’t worn gloves because they – were – not – hot – peppers.
It didn’t make a difference, I guess. Even though I washed my hands, the capsaicin got into the skin. Long story short, I spent the next hour squatting in cold water in the bathtub. After that, I always wore gloves. I hope that story wasn’t too crude.
And then there was the time I pulverized dried serranos in the food blender and didn’t wear a respirator mask and goggles …
