Might as well, the US has given up paying their debt.

All the Western nations, from Day One of elected officials voting to spend borrowed money, based on promises of repayment by our children and grandchildren, without their consent, have BUILT THIS COLOSSES OF DEBT, andeither each nation awakes to reality and votes to stop government spending money that exceeds tax revenues, or ALL will fall together, into bankruptcy.Credit is a Fatal Drug.

The issue is everybody wants services that helps them, but nobody wants to pay for services that helps someone else. It’s all part of the “I want mine, but $%^^& the rest of you” mentality that’s all too pervasive.Years ago there was a school district in Wisconsin that had to end the school year several weeks early due to budget problems. The town’s residents had soundly voted down an earlier tax referendum to make up for the funding short fall and keep the schools open. I remember seeing video of town hall meeting, where an older woman was complaining that she shouldn’t have to pay for school funding because she didn’t have immediate family in school. Did she think that she was specially entitled to the Medicare, Medicaid, and various senior citizen programs that are funded by tax payers who have no relation to her?

Bin Laden’s goal was to divide the American people, weaken our resolve to defend ourselves and ultimately bankrupt the American economy. The division is in full swing, there is an isolationist ideology growing in our country and the economy (deficit spending and economic growth) is in the toilet. We are sabotaging our children’s future with the debt burden we are leaving them. If we don’t come together and resolve our problems, economic and political we will be playing right into the hands of the extremists.

Speaking as an outside looking in……It would seem that the US has been divided for a long time. The schism comes from within. If there had never been a Bin Laden, the blame would be put somewhere elsse. All countries of the world should learn to live within there own means and find a level thet suits them. My country (the UK) has nowhere near the industry it once had and still we lend money overseas. Time to stop, I think. If something’s going to fail, then it’s not doing things properly.
