Does she have another one? We’ve seen her mother’s mother (white trash) but I don’t recall ever seeing her mother’s husband. (Considering what the mother is like, she may never have had a husband.)
In today’s comic on creators.com, Ruthie sounds the con man alert for her Grandmother. This fits with the GoComics strip, showing that Ruthie is beginning to grow up enough to not need her Grandpa’s help with tying her shoes. But grandkids always need a hug….

As a “Pappa” of a 9-yearl-old girl much like Ruthie, I dread the day when I am no longer the center of her universe. (sigh)

Those are all the signs that she’s being unfaithful to her grandfather. Even worse, they are also the signs that she’s growing up and away. So sad.
