At least the government isn’t calling for calorie mandates (like in Heinlein’s Farmer in the Sky )..Hm…. I wonder what the US People would think of it if they did?
The reason for the food scarcity was due to all the third world countries inlcuding China producing more babie than they could feed and expecting the rest of us to produce more food to feed them.
I like the idea, but it would be a PR mess; special interest groups would spin it as evil corporations forcing unhealthy food upon the poor and start some lawsuits. But don’t let that stop you from buying an extra happy meal next time you see someone in need.
