“…another one term Dem President is becoming rather common…”-‘Common’? You consider 2 (one being assasinated out of a second term) during the 20th century common? So the 4 (not counting the one removed from office) Republicans who didn’t have 2 full terms must be ‘often’, hmmm?
You asked why our mechanic voted for Obama in 2008? Most of us were sick of the lies of the previous administration that suckered the country into a needless war in Iraq. Follow this with policies that led to a crashing economy, I was ready to vote for whoever was on the Democratic ticket for President (I still voted for our Republican senator). I admit Obama has not been able to fix all of the problems, but with the posturing of the Republicans trying to move even further right has not endeared them to me. I am still not willing to give them another chance at the Presidency. However, I am still not supporting a Democratic senator. Maine has an opportunity with a strong third-party candidate, and the Republican attack ads are going after him instead of the Democrat, so that is who I will vote for.
Ok, how’s this: the only fact most of us cared about in 2008 was that Obama was not Bush, nor was he in Bush’s party. At the time, I would have voted for Kermit the Frog if he had been running against the Republicans. John McCain was a sacrificial lamb, not intended to win. Obama did not crash the economy, so we have a choice of continuing a slow recovery, or risking putting someone in power who may go back to the policies that crashed it. Yes, the information on Romney is important, because if he maintained his wealth through underhanded means, how does that benefit the rest of us? The President is a figurehead, and should behave as such. What do we not know about Obama? Birth certificate? Irrelevant – his mother was a US citizen, doesn’t matter if he were born in Pyonyang. His returns? They were released. Was he ever Muslim? So what – does not disqualify him from holding the office. How were we suckered into the war? By constant media blitzing from the Bush administration about how important it was that we went after Saddam. They made a respected general like Colin Powell stand up and read their lies about WMDs. Anyone who spoke up was branded as UN-American. World leaders who did fell under “you’re with us, or against us.” The Democrats were cowards who were afraid to vote it down for fear of losing their next election. I only voted for Kerry because he wasn’t Bush, but did not vote for any other Democrats in 04.
A vote for Mitt Romney will return our country to the failed economic policies of George W. Bush. Moreover, why should we vote for a presidential candidate who has made a pledge to Grover Norquist not to raise taxes if elected? I thought our president makes a pledge to protect, uphold and defend our Constitution instead of making a pledge to a wealthy lobbyist.

If I had a hand in that,. I’m sorry; however I have no idea how that could have happened. Again, I sorry.

So the Mitt’s campaign invited a " mystery guest " who wind up behaving like a senile individual talking to an empty chair.Brilliant.
