So, does she lie like a rug and help these guys build a fabulous public relations campaign? Or does she tell her new boss the truth about them – and save the boss billions by advising him NOT to get mixed up with a company which appears to be circling the drain for the last time – and might end up leaving the new boss holding a bag full of unpaid bills?

I know I’m in the minority here, but Betty’s former company didn’t do anything evil, or even wrong. They let an employee go. It’s awful for that employee, but it happens all the time.
How appropriate! I’d definitely tell the boss. She’s a temp so the worst that can happen to her is that she leaves behind the current job – but her honesty could place her in a more permanent postion.
Betty worked a long time for her old company. Who better to tell the history of that company. The good, bad and ugly. .All her new employer knows – this is a well established company, it has recently undergone restructuring (because most of that stuff is public knowledge) and all the public details of what happened under the new CEO..Brian doesn’t know how that new CEO behaved towards the employees upon arrival. Or how she restructured. If he wants to know – Betty can certainly enlighten. .and I think Brian wants to know the details. He asked Betty to be present because he knows this was her former employer. .@ Terri Brittingham – you’re quite right. Conflict of Interest!
I’m one of the ones that would have been laid off if I had not taken early retirement. A year and a few months later, they dropped the part of the business I was working in, finishing up all that needed to be done before closing the office entirely this past March. If someone had asked me if they were a good company to work for, I would say up to a point. They cared more for their stockholders than their employees and customers. I always thought they should never have become a public company.
