Why is everyone here so meaninglessly vicious about differing opinions?

Ima might be just initials and therefore could be either mail or female in gender. And as I would like to think of myself someone relative center of politics, with a slight lean towards the left, for the sake of compassion as Christ would have me be. After all, when he was here in the flesh he was indeed liberal in his teachings when compared to the ultra conservative Jewish Scribes and Pharisees. And “Eye for an Eye” versus “Love thin enemy” (let alone thin Neighbor) is what I would call an example of this!

And Ima (and more ultra conservatives here) do indeed have every right to express their opinions.

However, being a moderate, I do not either have to accept the more extreme opinions from either far sides of the political spectrum.

That being said, I do believe that Ima is at least somewhat misinformed about our great country. What we actualy are is a democratic republic, where the government with officials elected by the people, does have some degree of control over the big business interests of this country. That is not the complete programmed control that actual socialism would have. That is not even true in Europe, where the European Union actualy has a combined GDP of about $18 trillion compared to ours of some $14 trillion. With those large a GDP’s it should be obvious that neither of us are any where near socialistic or business would not be anywhere near that prolific!

Further, while President Obama is certainly not perfect (what human being is?), I do believe that he has done a reasonable job in very trying times and circumstances. And therefore deserves my reasonable support over Mitt Romney, who is at best a relatively unknown quatity.

Are these not reaonable positions to take Ima?

Yes, I think anger is an important element of the troll personality. Several, I deduce, have suffered personal problems — bad divorce, hard employment histories, and such — and I wonder if those troubles contribute to the anger. Anger isn’t always a bad thing, but it’s important to direct it in the proper direction. There’s another group (perhaps overlapping?) who seem to be poorly educated and just hopelessly confused. And their lack of knowledge doesn’t keep them from expressing strong opinions in areas where they are completely incompetent to form any opinion at all. It’s a zoo. And yet, despite it all, I still believe in democracy.

^ & ^^ I’m just surprised at the time spent on a forum just to spew trollish comments. I also suspect three of the trolls is in fact one. Is their raison d’être this forum? That would be sad. Bizarre.
