Republicans downplay their unpopular stances on social issues to seduce voters.
Woman: Too severe? Maybe basic white instead?
Man: Go with the baby doll dress.
Ted, I understand that your style is deliberately over the top, but why do you insist on alienating the people who most need to at least consider your perspective? I agree with the basic premise of the toon, but tempting your readers to invoke Godwin’s law means that folks that currently agree with the GOP will just dismiss you out of hand. If you don’t want to just preach to the segment of the choir that thinks Nazi symbolism is OK, I think you should try less over the top ways of getting your point across.
This is a droll commentary on the selection of Paul Ryan, a pretty vessel of poison, as veep-in-lust. It is not about right wing fashion trends. We all know they actually prefer haz-mat suits because it keeps the stains where they belong: on the victims.
If you don’t believe Ted (and you appear to be white) … pretend to be a republican with a stranger you suspect may be republican. They’ll start talking about coloreds and illegals within a couple of minutes and will explain America’s downfall in context. They’ll also remind you that Obama doesn’t understand America because he’s not culturally tuned to “our” culture.
Who was offended by Biden’s remarks? His audience or Wall Street banks? Romney doesn’t want to discuss his promise to go back to letting banks self-regulate because that turned out so well in the past. Meanwhile, Obama’s former friends on Wall Street are pouring money into Romney’s campaign.I find the sudden PC act coming from the Romney campaign to be less than convincing.
Actually, last I heard the Persian Gulf states love American-made RVs, and there’s a strong following in Europe as well; the domestic manufacturers over there can’t keep up with demand, leaving us a rather large export market.

I see Ted’s approach as an appropriate counter to the GOP’s deception about some of its primary goals. And, I feel Ted used appropriate symbols.

I think it’s amusing that Paul Ryan is being portrayed as a fiscal conservative.
