Where’d Andy go? Isn’t he part of this Stone family campout too? Surely he has some comment on this too.

He is probably practicing that maxim, If you can’t say anything nice then don’t say anything at all.

Dunk him in the lake with a bar of soap. And burn his clothes!

Would burning the clothes get rid of the smell?

Andy is smart and is as far away as possible. This is a great lesson for him in preventing teenage pregnancy. ;)

Tomato juice doesn’t work. Google the recipe if you’re really interested. It includes Dawn dish soap because it cuts oil and skunk scent is oil based. Also includes vinegar and baking soda. Haven’t had to use it in awhile so I don’t recall all of it. Tomato juice is an old wives tale.

And to get rid of the smell in a house or car, place bowls of coffee grounds (unused) and bowls of vinegar. It takes time, but it does work

I beg to differ with erinblisss, tomato juice does work but not as effectively as the Dawn detergent recipe. Ultimately, depending on how bad the “skunking” was, you may need to use all the above listed rememdies.

See my comment from yesterday — It really doesn’t smell as bad “inside” the cloud. I think your sense of smell goes into overload!

Skunk scent remover – 1 tbsp liquid soap (any kind)1/4 cup baking soda1 quart hydrogen peroxide

Mix when you need it – the skunk scent disappears immediately and doesn’t come back. Doesn’t hurt your clothes or the lawn. Better have them meet up with a person who hikes a lot with their dog.
