My brother-in-law told me of a friend of his that had wired a stationary bike to his computer.It did not generate enough electricity to power the computer. Instead it generated enough power to keep the switch closed to make sure the computer stayed on. Apparently, this guy had the legs of an olympic cyclist, but was way underdeveloped above the waist.
