I can understand the sentiment in the cartoon but they have to turn the reactors back on as they simply don’t have the enough non nuclear electrical production.
Why they would put the spent fuel rods in the same building, ON AN UPPER FLOOR, is beyond me. The pool is teetering and if it falls all those rods will go up in smoke. The sky shine will be beautiful to behold. Probably saved a few yen. That’s what corporations do. Trust them folks and don’t forget to vote for their stooges in congress and Lord Richy Rich this Nov. They have our best interest at heart. Right!
