Do any of you have an example of Fox doing anything like this? I know you sit around all day and all night telling each other how bad Fox is so you can continue to believe the stuff you’re fed by the MSM, but have you ever actually seen Fox just outright deliberately lie to push an agenda, like NBC did here? Give us some examples.
Editing comments and video to make them say what you’ve pre-determined they should say is lying. I hope that in pointing out that it’s happened on MSNBC, Mr. Ramirez isn’t ignoring how it happens in other outlets, namely Fox News.
CasualBrowser,Yes, it is wrong no matter who does it. Two wrongs do not make a right. But that is 99% of what I see from the Left. Obama could nuke Dallas, and some commenters here would say “But Bush spat on a sidewalk”. Just like 4 of the first 6 comments on this strip. So far, I’ve only checked your Mediabistro link. It says: “Update: worth noting that the original Hannity piece, which I have embedded after the jump, was a 10 minute segment that also featured FNC contributors defending Obama’s stance on the issue, not a one-off designed to mock him, as the MSNBC one appeared to be.” I can’t actually see the video (will not have “flash” on my system and have very limited bandwidth) so I’ll not pass judgment, but sounds like a somewhat different situation. And yes, if Fox does did do something deliberately deceptive I, and most others on my side, would slam them. It’s wrong and it will do more harm than good, just like NBC’s little tricks have.I’ll try to check some more links before leaving for work, but time runs short…
SOP for Fux News and Rush, and they’re both now complaining about THEIR standard practice, as THEY continue to do it in the same breath! Hiarious if their dittoheads continue to ignore it from their heros.
All you Fox bashers do realize that there is a difference between a Fox political pundit (or one from any network) and a journalist reporting “news” on MSNBC, don’t you? Pundits can argue their viewpopints anyway they like—it’s their opinion. Journalists, on the other hand, are supposed to report verifiable facts and NOT their opinions or what they wish would happen.
NBC and MSNBC are pathetic, just like this administration, if you don’t like FOX don’t watch, that’s right you just regurgitate what you read on Media Matters.
Jon Stewart had a nice example of this two nights ago, where a Fox News commentator said that Obama HIMSELF had ruled out changing immigration reform without congress — but left off the bit where Obama said that even though he couldn’t give a path to citizenship, he COULD change the focus of who gets priority in deportations, which is exactly what he did. So Fox’s point was that Obama was a hypocrite, and the extended quote proved that he wasn’t.
Q: Has anyone EVER done to Obama in a “NEWS” story that Andrea Mitchell did to Romney?
A: No, and if they did, they’d have been fired and would still be looking for ANY available work doing ANYTHING.
I cannot think of a time when ANY presidential candidate of ANY party was given the “look—I’m a brainless twit…” treatment that MSNBC put on Mitt Romney. It was simply to fit their “he’s totally out of touch” template, when, if you had listened to the entire Romney quote, he makes a very good point about the difference between private sector service, and public sector service.
A responsible news network would have rolled heads over that irresponsible hit-piece, and don’t bore me about some OTHER network. This is proof positive that the network wher lefties get their “news” is nothing but a shill for the Democratic Party.

This one is Brilliant!!!! NBC should be ashamed. But they still insist that they can’t imagine what is wrong with what they have done.

If you want to start complaining about selective editing to further a partisan agenda, I have two words for you Mikey: Fox News.

Let’s see, NBC edits Romney in their newscasts; Ramirez edits facts in his cartoons. Sounds like the pot calling the kettle black.

Funny to read the “Hey, look over there!” debating points here. You’d think that everyone could just agree that what NBC did is wrong.
