I can tell the Republicans here don’t get it. I do….You Republicans are rocking the boat and almost causing our government to sink – thanks to the Tea Partiers that run that campaign. That’s one nice thing about being Independent: We see things as they are.

What? You expect a democrat to work? To get down and dirty? How racist and elitist can you get?

Please cease to refer to the Democratic Party by the Nazi name. It’s beyond the pale. Use your usual fact-free insults if you must.Besides, it is utterly inaccurate. There is precisely one Socialist in national politics: Bernie Sanders. He rejects the Democrats as well as the Republicans.

It is worthy of note that BOTH parties have moved so far to the right that a genuine liberal would probably come as a breath of fresh air to voters. I mean, c’mon — Obama has bailed out businesses, used a Republican healthcare plan that gives MORE money to insurance companies, and sends drones to shoot down people in other countries at his whim according to a “kill list” — does this sound like a bleeding heart liberal to YOU?Let’s contrast. “Mr. Anti-Commie” Richard M. Nixon launched the Clean Air Act, which unlike the “Clear Skies initiative” actually WAS a Clean Air Act. Eisenhower reduced the size of the military. George H. W. Bush used diplomacy to get a real allied front in the first Gulf War. All supported education and science. Now we have politicians with multiple degrees saying college just makes you a snob, an outright rejection of science in the denial of AGW and evolution, catering to right-wing religious fanatics, and a Congress that clearly feels Big Business is their true constituency. We have a major industry in creating and keeping prisoners for profit leading to more prisoners per capita than any nation in the world — even China. Congress is attacking any kind of consumer protection or labor protection.I keep posting it, but it’s true: Teddy Roosevelt’s Progressive Party Platform of 1912 is FAR more progressive than the Democratic party a century later. I’m a TR Republican, apparently.http://teachingamericanhistory.org/library/index.asp?document=607

When corporations have more power than the government it’s called FASCISM. Look it up.

“Confessed Socialist and atheist”? Cite ONE SINGLE LEGITIMATE REFERENCE to back up that frankly bizarre assertion. Hell, even try to find proof Obama is leftist! Can’t read it by his first three years in office. And by the way, even if he were (and he ain’t), that would still be entirely legal in the United States. Perhaps not where you are.And you wonder why people point to the GOP and shake their heads.

only a right winger would call scuttling the boat saving it, as for the democrats, they are a wholly owned subsidiary of the same corporate mafia that the republicans are.

Without the culture wars to take us back to the 50s when white males ran everything, and women, gays and non-whites we’re suppressed and excluded, what would the GOP have to rant about?

A blogger named Michael Stafford had an interesting take on why he quit the Republican party.http://www.cagle.com/2012/06/why-i-gave-up-on-being-a-republican/

It’s all covered in George Orwell’s book “1984”. Read it sometime when you are not watching Fix News.

You have just reiterated the myth propagated by Glenn Beck, which shows your essential lack of knowledge of history.I do NOT equate capitalism with fascism; you are confounding me with someone else — as it happens, I consult to executives, I do just fine with capitalism, thank you.I also know the difference between fascism, which is a right-wing ideology focused on absolute rule by an individual, and what we have, which is a corporate-driven former republic. You also don’t know what serfdom is.

    T. R. was a true, and supportable “Republican” yet still a little odd around the edges. Ike was far more liberal than anyone in the party today. BTW: again, liberal just means open minded, and willing to consider different ideas, and intelligent: Which is the polar opposite of today’s “neocons” passing as the “republican” party.

As to “free lunch”, ask Mitt and the super wealthy about theirs. Which, remember when Bush 41 and again 43 demonstrated they didn’t have a clue what to do at a cash register in either a grocery store or sandwich shop?

“Silver spoon babies” ARE born to “free lunch”, and they expect US to pay for it!
