What’s the name of Alice’s clown toy?

Go for it, Alice! Everyone knows you can’t stop a volcanic eruption in progress! Dinner must wait.

“But first,” nothing!! Alice needs to be taught to obey when she is told the first time! (Well, if this was real life and not a comic strip, that would be true!)

As I mentioned before (but maybe for another strip), my five-year old “Alice” granddaughter was going on a “scenic” walk with her older sister and me across a parking lot (the older one had said she wanted to go on a scenic walk, and I persuaded them to pretend). We wandered along rivers (asphalt patches on cracks) and splashed through lakes (the blue handicapped areas). On the way back, I pointed out pebble-looking things in the pavement, and said they were towns. “Alice” started stomping and said she was stomping on the towns. I pretended horror and told her to stop. After awhile, she said, “I’m still ♫ doing it!

Gotta love creepy Mr. Clownpants. He’s made a decent number of appearances in the Otterloop household over the years.

That Alice is such a dear sweet child!

I don’t think that Calvin would play with Alice. He always seemed slightly antisocial, preferring Hobbes’s company over other children’s, especially a four year old’s.
