You must be a conservative. I heard on Talk-Radio today that the liberals want America to fail, and what you are advocating the country will not fail, in fact it will bloom.

We really shouldn’t have any troops in Europe at this point. With the downfall of the Soviet Union, the threat of a massive land war is very small. The Europeans can pay for their own defense at this point.

We do need to maintain a presence in the Pacific and East Asia, or the Chinese would dominate it’s neighbors, not to mention the regime in North Korea.

Afghanistan is not going to be changed by a military occupation. There are no massive armies there and no staunch allies to work with us. We need some presence in order to make sure Al-Qaeda doesn’t resume training. But while we focus so much attention in Afghanistan, there are other places around the glove where terrorists of all stripes are relatively unchecked. The war on terrorism is not a war that should have been fought with our regular military.

That would only be 23 years, a mere pittance for the American empire.
