It seems someone’s joy has to be someone else’s sorrow.

@GatoCat,This is very true. I know a BF who is mostly attracted to WM and I know a WM who is only attracted to BF, so this is a common thing I see as well.

Maybe she just needs a break with her family.

Hopefully some day people will stop saying black person or white person and just say person.

@Gatocat
I don’t understand what that has to do with today’s strip…

They both look the exact same shade of white to me. He appears to me to be of Italian descent.

In case you didn’t know, the Supreme Court case that fully legalized interracial marriage in 1967 (hard to realize it was such a short time ago), involved a BF/WM couple. As far as I know, BF/WM couples are as prevalent as WF/BM couples. I personally don’t see your point.

I assumed Arnold was probably Jewish or Italian rather than black. I wonder if it will ever get addressed in the strip.

Biracial is more than black and white. One of my uncles married a Japanese lady, and two of my cousins married Hispanics. And, I am told I have 1/8th Cherokee on my mothers side.

And if we trace our ancestors far enough, we will find Adam & Eve.

So, in Jan’s strip, she appeases all stripes of PC and color by producing a strip starring a red-headed widow with blonde and black-haired daughters, a black motorcycle cop boyfriend and has a divorced black-haired nitwit sister, who’s married to a jewish CPA,who has a blonde teen-aged nephew, between whom have produced a female infant of undetermined hair color and on and on..I forgot the lil’ rug-rat squirm-boy that seems to be everywhere he shouldn’t, but…….Even Grandma Evie has fallen for a ‘man of color’ and idealistic ends. The story won’t seem to end until everyone is melded into ‘one color/religion and ability to drive a stick shift’… It’s a romantic comedy, but ………..jeeeezzzzzzzzzz….I’m no Archie Bunker, as I am presently enamored by a ‘coffee with cream’ sort, herself.. But,God help me, ain’t enough ENOUGH???…
