Think about this some: you’re going to suspend a kid, not because he was drinking, but because a random bystander saw a kid late at night, in a two- or three-second glance while driving by, presumed the kid was drunk, and claimed to recognize the kid from that glance? Terrific. Do I get to get a high school sports star suspended by calling up the principal and claiming I saw him staggering around?
Man, the Lakers would have had a lot better record this season if I did.
Didn’t the kid already admit to drinking in his office? If he really wanted to find out, he could have asked the kids who were supposed to be keeping an eye on him. Gil’s always been the biggest hippocrate. His intentions may be noble but it still makes him a hippocrate.
