Does your neighbor let you borrow without asking?

My MIL thinks anything that comes into her house is hers. We took our stepladder over to hang her Christmas lights and left it in the garage until it was time to take them down. She calls once a wekk, wanting to know when we’re returning “her” ladder. She’s 86 and uses a walker.

I have an old Ziggy cartoon over workbenches (garage and hobby room). “It’s better to have it and not need it than Need it and not Have it” so I never have to borrow.
