Maybe Grandma could turn Big Shirley loose inside the piano, along with the cats and mice!

Finding a piano shouldn’t be too hard, if it’s really there. The love between Alice and Madeline (as expressed in panel 4) is very touching!

Love the black and white strip! Alice and Mom are having a moment. Sweet – even with cats and mice!

I love the boogie-woogie riff in the middle! I can still whistle it. Followed by “Chopsticks.”

Grandma must be a “hoarder” if she can’t find her piano!

I was thinking the same thing. How much stuff does a spare room have in it, to loose a piano?.Umm…. I think I have a piano somewhere, now where did I put that?

why don’t you put the mice in Petey’s oboe? Or let the cat destroy Timmy Fretwork’s banjo?the oboe is possible to stand, but the banjo? Great strip today, I wonder what Alice will do. BTW, why isn’t there any color today?

I believe Alice is thinking of The Aristocats movie, either that or Cinderella or something?

As usual, the dialogue is every bit as good as the art. “She’ll give it to us if she can find it!” Fantastic.

Interesting comments about no color/black & white today – I’m looking at this at 1 PM PDT and it’s in full color.

There are actually two Tom vs. Jerry vs. piano cartoons.

The Cat Concerto ( Academy Award winner, Best Short Subject; 1946): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KNE5C0X7Fzs

    Johann Mouse (1952): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ttjAQY5hWDQ
