Obama has so far only lowered taxes. No reason to think he’ll raise gas taxes, though they’re lower now than they’ve ever been in percentage terms.

Over $8 in many parts of the world. “Nationalized” oil is pretty cheap however. Is that what Republicans are asking for???

There are hundreds of leases for drilling lands going unused. You want to drill? Then drill. And keep the oil in America.

I love it when the connies do this: They shouted and shouted and shouted and shouted and shouted about aaaaaaall the horrible things that would happen if Obama was elected President. Didn’t work, he got elected anyway, and none of that horrible stuff they shouted about came to pass. Here we get near his second term, and they’re shouting and shouting and shouting and shouting about all the same crap again. How stupid do they think we are? I mean, we non-Republican voters?

Why would us Europeans blame the US for high petrol taxes? Petrol costs us about £1.35 a litre – about $2.That would give you an $8 gallon. No, that’s just our governments and their tax strategies!

As late as 1885 how many conceived of let alone believed that they would live to see "horseless carriages,” electricity in ever home or manned flights?

The Manhattan Project was only started out of the fear that Germany would develop the bomb first. Though the theory was there the technical knowledge and know how was not, had it been the project (I am very sure) would have already been under way. So, the U.S. started something out of fear that proved doable far sooner than people, not unlike you, thought possible. Nuclear fusion when? Depends on the effort we put in to it.

“Hey M. Davies …In which European county to they have “right-side of the road” steering wheels in their car that speak English?”

How about Germany? Every student there takes seven years of English in school.
