Hmm. I think I’ll keep my comments on this one to myself. Makes me wonder though, if Annie wants to study at the Gaudi Institute. They may ‘coax’ her to become a Catholic.

Isn’t Boyd a gay uncle? I don’t remember him being in on the adoption paperwork…

Gaudi must have hired some contractors that are a bit slow. They have been workijng since 1882 and haven’t finished.

@Scott Todhunter, Annie was going to be adopted by Dr. Fine and Alan, but she wanted Lila as her mother, so Lila ended up adopting her. Lila is her mother. Dr. Fine and Alan have no rights to Annie. Boyd often takes care of Annie. Annie often refers to Dr. Fine, Alan, and Boyd as her gay daddies, but they are not that, officially. Nor is Boyd an uncle, technically, since he is not related to Lila. Confused? I am. LOL!

I just figured Boyd got promoted to “daddy” status since he’s been the one with Annie most nights!

As to the sacred family… back in the day, maybe Annie’s family wouldn’t have been considered sagrada familia, but this is the 21st century and any group of such disparate people who come together and love and support each other (in their own very dysfunctional ways) makes the grade as far as I’m concerned!!

Agree with you, @piksea. Many of us do. Now if only Lila would realize that the family she’s made is a truly great one…

Annie’s docent needs a little retraining. La Sagrada Familia is a basilica, but not a cathedral. Barcelona’s cathedral (where the bishop presides) is called the Cathedral of the Holy Cross and Saint Eulalia. It was built during the 13th-15th centuries. Also, the English translation of Sagrada Familia is “Holy Family”, but a native Catalan speaker might not know that.

The work didn’t stop. It continues slowly. The main issue is that it doesn’t get funding from any government or church sources. It only gets funding from ticket sales and private donations. Furthermore the Spanish Civil War slowed progress, along with debate about Gaudi’s intentions. Last but not least, since there is no deadline for the completion of the project (which is not typical), there is no urgency to finish.
