Man: Let's pound the Republican Congress for refusing to pass a Democratic agenda we never proposed when a congress was Democratic.
Barack Obama: Gets cold in Chicago in the winter.
Republican filibusters prevented the Democrat Congress from passing the agenda that they did in fact propose. Why are Republicans now trying to re-write history when they were so proud of their obstruction then?
saywhatwhat got it exactly. with the “we’d rather die than participate in governing,” “every law will require 60 senate votes” republican party, there’s no such thing as a democratic congress as long a they’re short of 60 votes. crippled by blue dog dinos, ain’t no way no how.
This is why, when they controlled the Congress, the Democrats should have brought each bill furthering our agenda to a vote so that there would be a clear record on each of these agenda issues!
Just get rid of “Hope and change” and just go with the stark reality of the situation: “Squander”. He’s squandered 4 years; he’ll squander 4 more. Obama’s the best thing that’s ever happened to the Republicans and they don’t even know it yet.
Nope, President Obama is no FDR but, compared to what the Repub’s are offering Prez Obama is still the only light in the forest. So, no brainer, go for light rather than the darkness of the Repub’s.
That was difficult to read: “Suck up to win reelection”. Hmm. Not really necessary to suck up, only need to have done well in office. I know Republicans can’t understand this at all. The only way they can possibly win an election is to use lies to drum up fear in a bunch of myth-infatuated Church-goers who fear burning in the afterlife. (They’re going away. Won’t work any longer.)

Obama has failed not because of Republican filibusters, but because he simply cannot or will not reach across the aisle and bring people together.
