Alice: Petey! Look what Dill's mom was going to throw away! You can use it for one of your shoebox dioramas! Petey: This will be my Sistine Chapel! Alice: This will be my hat!
Aww! How nice of Alice to get that delightfully large shoebox for her diorama-obsessed big brother! That was really kind of you, Alice! Plus, you got a fine lid/hat , too! Everybody wins today!
Maybe Dill’s brothers had a grow spurt. Or maybe they built a giant robot out of cardboard, shopping carts and Dill’s broken dreams and the robot needed shoes.
Not to belittle the other artists fine works, but I think Lincoln has had the best run so far. He really captures the mood and mindset that is Cul de Sac.
I didn’t realize until told (very recently) that it isn’t only the art that’s guest-provided but also the speech and story lines. Which shows how good an ear these folks have and how careful attention they have paid. And yesterday I thought Richard had come back , the art was so close.Well done!
Definitely has the Cul de Sac rhythm with the double punch at the end! I’ve always wondered about Petey’s teacher. He/she never shows up, or am I missing something? Just wondering…

Yes, Lincoln I think we are all agreed that you have captured the spirit of Cul de Sac very well.

Diorama on the box top for a traveling exhibit?

For his biggest diorama to date, wouldn’t calling it his “St. Peter’s Cathedral” be more appropriate than “Sistine Chapel?”

Lincoln, you are doing a fantastic job – mind you, I still can’t wait for Richard’s return, but this week’s strips have been excellent!

I agree with you all! Today in particular spurs the imagination.

Peirce really nailed it. Now if Stephen Pastis would draw a week’s strip, I would be exploding with geekiness right now.

Petey’s eyes in p2…priceless, hahahaha. You’re doing a great job, Lincoln. The best guest cartoonist yet, in my opinion.

This comic strip rather nicely sums up the personalities of both characters in a wonderful panel. I love it.
