Irish “teddy” has called repeatedly for censorship, oppression BY the church and religion on freedoms, and putting the priesthood in people’s bedrooms to “monitor” their activities. By “eddie’s”, and other’s, standards, Sheneman is UNDERSTATING the potential intrusion, and “problem”.

You and your priests have the right to believe what you want and say what you want, but you don’t have to right to impose it on others. You can believe the earth is flat and only 6 thousand years old, but you have no right to force that crap on my children. You can believe and do the exact opposite of what Jesus said, and to be sure, most of you “Christians” do, but don’t lecture me about morality.

Ah geez, another republican increase in government bureaucracy, another republican increase in government size and taxation on the middle-class and poor.

Interesting that the comic is about Santorum, yet IrishEddie felt the need to launch into yet another rationalized defense of the catholic church.Such are the actions of the guilty conscience.

“The Church’s opinion is that when the doors shut, that is between you and God.”

This explains why the priest get those kids in the rectory.

“But will they physically go into your bedroom, sit on your bed and say “Now, you may start breeding” (as another offensive cartoon at this site has suggested).”

Don’t be silly. Cameras are a much cheaper option.

“Our priests and bishops have every right to state what it is proper.”

No they don’t. They get their marching orders from the Vatican.

“I have as much right to come into the market place and speak..”

No you don’t. The market place is a place for commerce, not social gathering. If the Church wants to take gubbermint money it must adhere to gubbermint regulations, just like any other institution that is dealing in the market place. If the church does not want to fund contraceptives with gubbermint money, then don’t take the money in the first place. But I doubt I’ll ever hear ANY church say that they won’t take gubbermint money on principle.

“How can you say the “religious right” wants to “turn schools into religious indoctrination centers”” That’s an easy one. The most obvious example is their many attempts to get their religious mythology taught as science. Were you not aware of that? Have you not noticed that when they say they want creationism taught, it is invariably only the christian version, and none of the countless other creation myths?

Were those the same bishops that protected the pedophile priests, or were those different bishops?

Wish the Republicans would respect the privacy of the bedroom.
