Bye Tank. I understand why Sandusky was off limits. But there were many more deserving of the SJY than Suh. David Stern should be at the top of the list. He and his thug owners nearly robbed us of a whole NBA season. Plus, with only being able to vote on Twitter and Facebook, you ensured the result you wanted.
He may have football talent, but Suh lied about stomping a player’s arm and banging the player’s head into the ground several times AFTER the whistle and while the other man was prone on the ground. So he cost his team a first down that led to a goal and was disciplined for the fifth time in the season. His team has to be wondering if his abilities are worth the cost to the team. His endorsers must be leery as well.
I’d forgotten all about a boy named Suh by this time. But IMHO, our humble host cartoonists are the SJOY for depriving those of us who don’t have time for twits and faceplant of our votes on SJOY. In fact, last year I tried to vote when it was accessible by all, not just by those addicted to antisocial media, and the voting didn’t work then, either; so I’ve been disenfranchised from this diversion for the last two cycles at least.
And, as a dedicated fan of all Detroit teams that don’t play baskeball, I hereby remove this formerly great comic strip, which (admit it!) jumped the shark a decade ago, from my comics page.
