I’m surprised Lizzie’s in the FRONT seat.

Different time, where front seat does not have air bag.

Not wanting a child to die in an auto accident is hardly paranoia.

Did she hit the man or his car? Wow… that’s bad. Elly, calm down before you drive!

“Nature abhors a vacuum.” this quote is proven everyday in rush hour traffic in nearly every city in America. No one wants to follow at safe following distances because someone might cut in on them. We don’t tailgate, we ‘draft’.Respectfully, C

I remember when the car seat simply hooked over the back of the front bench seat. Don’t think it could even hook on the back seat.

That was before car seats. A bad mood will mess everything up all the time!

I was just like Lizzie in the 70s. I sat in the front seat at age 2 and yelled “idiot driver” out the window. Nobody would have considered putting kids in the back, then. Though I did have whatever the “car seat” was then. Apparently, you can get away with insulting other drivers if you are 2 with blond curls (my mother says I was an excellent judge of bad driving, even then!).

MythBusters showed the effect of your gas mileage on driving while po’d. No one has done a study yet of how your bad mood effects the efficiency of public transportation.

Driving distracted is driving distracted, whether by a cell phone, the radio, the kids arguing in the back seat, or a preoccupied mind (in this case, bad mood). We all have the responsibility not to be distracted, and focus on getting safely from point A to point B — period.

So you would consider keeping a small child from flying thru the windshield like a torpedo by having them in the back as “paranoia” ?

I had little ons in the late 60’s, early 70’s. No car seats for most, rode bicycles with no helmet and baby in basket. Oh how thw world has changed. for better and for worse.

My mom did that once after a fight with dad. Backed out of the diveway into a car parked on the side of the street. Normally she was a very good driver, under the influance of anger.

Elly’s bad mood was on everything but her driving. She put her baby in danger and had an accident. I hope she has good auto insurance.

Several years ago, a pilot showed up for work rip-snorting mad about something – and crashed on takeoff.

At least she’s not at the level of road rage American style. If she were, that guy would be dead and not staring in her window.
