Juke, I heartily agree with you in most cases. When I was younger, we had plenty of play time at school to work out the extra energy that young children have. Before school, during a morning recess, lunch recess, etc., we had time to run around and expend energy. By the time my kids started school, they were required to sit still in a line as soon as they got to school, instead of being able to play. After lunch which was also a recess time for us, they had to stand in line along the fence until all the kids were done eating, and in the afternoon when we had a period for P.E., they had quiet time. Is it any wonder they’ve got excess energy?
