airport security is a joke. because, of richard reid, we got to take off our shoes and limit our liquids. because, of the underwear idiot, we have to be pat down. service is still crap. flights are crap. prices are still high. airlines plead poverty. i wonder if we should get a pilot’s license to bypass of this stupidity.
THAT machine will suck out his diaper pins, but not stop the “TSA mentality”. It apparently HAS, from the description of the COKE smugglers, made brining their product on planes more problematic, but hasn’t had any real “security” benefit. So while Meese and folks have more problems, it’s the common flyer that is most harassed. TSA is the REASON I don’t fly much any more, and hate it when I do. It has something to do with the years I spent around security, and can see the ridiculous nature of our system. OBSERVATION is the secret, not more machines and poorly trained minimum wage (even by fed standards) minimum standard folks who want to wear a uniform and “bug” people. It’s also interesting that going on international flights is much LESS a pain, because TSA puts their more experienced people on those terminals, and they speed you through rather “painlessly”. ICE depends on what airport you come into, and can still be a pain, but that’s again more to do with the drug smugglers, not “mad bombers”, as it is at the END of your flight.
Lambda,sadly your cognitive deficit and behavioral issues contribute absolutely nothing to the TSA problems seen in the cartoon, discussed by other thoughtful posters. I suggest you try growing up and contributing something worthwhile in your next post.
