Winny the Pooh is from a zoo that A A Milne, the author, went to. At the zoo was a bear named Winnipeg, and a swan named Pooh. He combined the names and integrated them into his son’s bedtime stories, which, published, are the stories of Winnie the Pooh, we all know today.
