She’s not really warming up to Trace, is she?

Even if her plans fall through and she’s out of ice cream, she’ll probably realise she has to wash her hair….

    Or iron her blouse….

    or call her mother.

    Or …um… polish her toenails…

    Or….er……um….something.

Susan, I’ve heard all of them a few times. My cousin is in town, I have work to catch up on, my mother (dog, father, sister) is sick, I have to go to a funeral.

Hey, she can’t help it if she’s “high maintenance”. It’s in how you’re raised, so look to her parents. If they had taken her camping, fishing, worked in the garden, she would be more interested in outdoorsy stuff and the Ritz would not be a fun time.

Yes, she is high maintenance. And if Trace does not want that kind of a woman, he is free to say “Hey Lila – if those plans fall through and you are out of Ben and Jerry’s – go by some more Ben and Jerry’s. Enjoy the boys! Latah!”

BUT – if he accepts these conditions, he has no right to complain later on.

Lila is high maintenance and she makes sure you know it. I like that.

I like Trace. He’s a man, not a puppet. I also find it interesting that the same people who always criticise Lila for being “shallow” now go on about how cheap he is. He’s not cheap, she’s not shallow. Maybe they’ll find common interests, maybe they won’t, but that doesn’t make either of them worth less.
