I count the fact that the barmaid is expected to READ as a (slow and halting) sign of progress since I was born in 1944!

How about showing us where the BBC has distorted the truth, instead of expecting everybody to believe it, just because YOU said so..

While we’re waiting, you might be interested to know that study after study has concluded FOX News junkies are the most misnformed of all news viewers

    http://www.usnews.com/opinion/blogs/john-farrell/2010/12/22/university-study-fox-viewers-more-misinformed

And let’s not forget that your precious FOX is owned by the same guy who owned News Of The World… the tabloid that hacked murder victims’ cell-phones, and bribed the London police

Oh yeah, a Brit version of FOX News will reeeeeally play well across the pond.

After a few pints of strout we too can do the impossible—even one step up; we’ll keep all of our dollars in pounds and euros and all of our pounds and euros in dollars…only sane safe way to do it…if only magic worked.

So, Skippy, you really think Faux gnus is fair and balanced? If you really believe that, then you are fairly unbalanced.

Such ignorance is most impressive. Murdoch is an Australian who got American citizenship so he could buy up more media, but he’s very well established in the UK, and even though he shut News of the World, he’s still got The Sun, and The Times (That’s “of London,” in case that wasn’t obvious) to cover print media, Sky Broadcasting, which provides the main competition to BBC News in the UK, along with a host of cable networks that are accessible all over the world.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Newscorp

So liberal Americans believe the Franco-German lie that the City of London (The Square Mile of high finance) is responsible for all the economic woes of the world. Let’s ignore the fact that the Euro was always unworkable; that nobody with any sense keeps money in Euros – or US Dollars; that the repackaging of sub-prime mortgages by the strangely named Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae poisoned the system; that too many ordinary people spent too much on credit or that unregulated greed might have something to with it.

Whether other newspapers practiced ‘phone-hacking doesn’t justify the shameful acts of the Murdoch press. That Richard Nixon lied to congress didn’t justify Bush-Cheney’s lying.P.S.: Read that New York Times article you cited in the last forum. It states that a full recount of Florida in 2000 showed that Al Gore won the state. Now, please move on. History has spoken. We were stuck with a terrible, corrupt, illegitimate president for eight years. You supported him and the man who tried to continue his poor work, and you cannot admit your poorjudgment, but you can, at least, be humble and keep quiet until you can say anything of substance.
