Love the DADA and the Museum Of Modern Art (MOMA) pun. Its an interesting coincidence that the painting “Study of a Nude Descending a Staircase” was a study of time and motion, and the strip is from a time long ago.
I finally realized that the little painting was Salvador Dali’s “Geopoliticus Child Watching the Birth of the New Man.” A commentary on the US emerging strong from WWII and a destroyed Europe starving. My interpretation was, “We who were once strong destroyed ourselves with war and made another strong to replace us. Learn from this.” Did Justin make a random choice, or was a statement being made? He is clever at hiding messages in the small things.
Dear The Life I Draw Upon: You are very astute. Yes, I chose that painting specifically. Mainly because it is argued that the Duchamp “nude” inspired Dali and his surrealist pals. Hence the puerile, paternal pun. Good on you!

“THIS IS NOT A PUN” is the title of this strip, is it not? And where’s MOMA?
