this cartoon shows the sign of the times we live in…like the Bible’s handwriting on the wall warning of God’s judgment…Summers captures Americans’ decline from our Founders’ Ideals….we see Thanksgiving Day demoted to just another family feast as the opening to Xmas materialism spending…..where Jesus is the reason for the season is mostly ignored!

@"Dr" Canuck…the Bronze Age was history when Jesus was born….and His birth divided BC from AD in our counting of millennia.-Thanksgiving has roots in the Bible’s Old Testament times, but especially it was Pilgrim days in America…about 1620 AD….at Plymouth…for the first celebration…and Washington set the day as a national observance in 1789.-both have been American, and Christian, and popular annual observances…..and the modern arrogance of demoting historical and spiritual heritages exposes the bankruptcy of puny men who think themselves smarter than their Creator.

Jesus’s followers co-opted the Winter Solstice celebrations in a backhanded effort to convert the pagans. He was never the reason for the season. Sorry if it offends you Christians to hear it, but not everyone believes in your Sky God.

I capitalize references to Him out of respect for your customs.
