OK, let’s try to put this in perspective. If you give each of the 7 billion people about 3 and a half square feet to stand in (which they could do easily), they would all fit within the city limits of Jacksonville, Florida, which is 874.3 square miles. Of course there are enough resources to sustain everyone. It’s just a matter of the “me first” attitude and people not working together that makes the problem. I agree with grayhares01—“easy lies…”

siegfrie, yes you could do that. And then they would all starve to death because there’s not enoguh food to support them. Here’s putting it into perspective: Take the land area of Earth, divide by seven billion, you’re left with less than SIX acres per person. And that land doesn’t just have to feed and shelter you, it has to provide EVERYTHING you use. That’s power, infrastructure, somewhere to put your garbage, raw materials, etc.etc. Easy lies my ass. It’s easy math. The world is overcrowded as it is and it’s getting worse.

Check out Rob Rogers idiotic comic “addressing this issue.” Indeed: “Another lazy cartoonist spewing easy lies…”

I’m a little confused. Why are the “conservatives” so anxious to NOT conserve? Why do they seem to think the Earth is much bigger than it is? Why does siegfrie think that having everyone stand in 3.5 feet of space proves ANYTHING about resources? And, folks, the Earth is neither flat nor equally livable. The Kalahari Desert barely supports the few nomadic peoples who live there. The Antarctic (about 10% of Earth’s surface — US and Mexico combined) supports NO human beings independently of imported supplies. People cannot farm the Himalayas, nor can they farm the Sahara (which is growing).Do we panic? I think not. Should we be concerned? Of course. Why shouldn’t we think ahead more than two minutes? That is generally associated with being an adult.

We live in a closed system, and the bottom right is a dead end to the game. The “get it while it’s good” folks don’t care, ‘cause they’ll be dead and “in heaven”— sorry dudes, you better NOT meet up with your posterity!!

We are the sickest animals on the planet due to the environment we have created. Any animal that is more sick is probably due to human activity. The more of something there is the less value it has; just watch the video of the Asian child being run over. The more humans there are, lives are valued less.Yes we can cram everyone on top of everyone and probably come up with some way to feed ourselves. What a nightmare world that would be. When I was a kid they said the “vast oceans would feed us.” Well, what hasn’t been fished into extinction is too polluted to eat. We are driving full speed towards a brick wall while looking in the rear-view mirror.

see how insecure humans are when they choose to reject Bible scripture truth that informs mankind who created and sustains earth & its population?-Faith in God the Creator gives security via TRUST in the power and sovereignty of God….the Bible tells us His PLAN to step in before men go too far, and send God the Son to rule over the planet 1,000 years with prosperity….later as Peter wrote, God will recycle earth and the next version will be eternal with all the needs of mankind met by God.-disbelief in God is the root of all nightmares of humanly unsolvable predicaments.

dt, it is precisely that “faith” of a phony deity in the “Book of Hell” that has MADE it’s followers so contemptibly ignorant of reality, and even the potential that a far more powerful force than their farce may indeed be behind universes beyond their imagination, limited by some dudes in a cave thousands of years ago writing a book to support their claim to be the “authorized” power over their people and the lands of nations they hated. There indeed may be mystery in the source of the creation of the universes, but it surly isn’t the deity of hate, prejudice, thievery, and contempt toward “non-believers” or those who refuse to be subservient to other men based on “his” myth. Quantum physics actually tends to support the views of a dude four centuries ahead of Christianity. Nothing in science or history, or known facts supports the myths of the Old Testament, in fact, most “stories” have actually been DISproved. If “faith” is used for true good, fine, but that is NOT the overwhelming “history” of the bible religions, period.

Belief in what the real world tells us, even with the ultimate unanswered question raising the true mystery is NOT “atheist”, merely recognizing that puny humans, and their puny deities created in their own, or for that matter, ANY physical image, is fraud.(for profit)

The real world has been put in jeopardy by greedy humans (pac men) unwilling to face reality because it decreases their personal profits. That situation is only made worse by false faith in unending growth and profit, promised by “prophets”.

Canuck, I pose this question to you, again in the interest of exposing any inherent hypocrisy.

    .

If you think families should reduce pregnancies, why are you against teaching abstinence. Also, how do you feel about the liberalization of things like school dress codes which allow girls to come to school all sexed up.
