Well, either way, she did the right thing by turning off the TV. In my family, homework first and THEN fun time like TV shows.

My parents were mentally ill and high. I’m glad they were awful. It made me be a better independent person! Still won’t catch me saying thank you though.

I used to work at Public Safety for teenagers for boys who did not like being home more in an structure environment and activities. One day I heard a teenage boy say he did not like his counselor to mean to him. I told him that is good the counselor was doing her job.Holly your mom is doing her job keeping you going on school work.

A Mother’s Revenge: My roommate’s son apologized for being such a terror when he was a child, because now his son is acting the very same way! It’s true: what goes around comes around.

Better late than never! Thanks Mom and Dad, for not even buying a TV until we all could read.

We had TV. My parents who can read more so my mom did not want to read could not stand reading. My dad did not get into reading until after retirement. For me summer days were boring. Though we had bikes to ride but no books for readng time. Back to school I got to check out library books. I did my school work without being told to.Then an adult when I was working I bought my first books. I thought I had a gold mine. Then after married went to garage sales had a bonanza of books. I have really branched out with library shelf in two bedrooms and a smaller one in living room. My dad took a college class while not working. Non of this impressed my mom. Also taking on-line classes. Though I was not like Holly.

Remember Proverbs 22:6. Your kids will indeed thank you for your discipline later on.

I called my Mom frequently to do one of three things. Tell her I was sorry for some teen aged transgression. Thank her for not killing me and eating her young during said teen aged transgression. Tell her I loved her. I miss those phone calls. Tell the people in your life. You love them, you are sorry when you screw up, and thank them for all they do for you.
