    Good morning all…

Where’s Abner Kadaver? I was hoping he’d have Dr. Mordred in his collection!

Does she wear her hair like that to hide her antennae?

Mmmm! Popcorn!I see Junior/Jackie is involved with the Police Athletic League!Honeymoon Steele would be a great PI name (reminds me of Honey West, which starred the ever-lovely Anne Francis in its TV version).

Hmmm.. Maybe if you mixed Honey West with Remmington Steele. Yeah! That would work!

Great to see some daddy/daughter time and Junior acknowledging his past. Of course, when he was really riding the rails, TV hadn’t even been invented yet!

She might have thought it just sounded cool, ‘cause isn’t Honeymoon a tad young to have heard of “Remington Steele”? I mentioned that show when the Bronson/Bond movies started up, and some cousins just ten years younger than I looked at me like I had antennae growing out of my head.

Hmm… “Mr. Popcorn”. WOuld the streams still have to be crossed, or could just a flock of birds be summoned to take care of him?

@marvee:From yesterday: I tried the trick with the Control key and the + key, and it worked. But, how do I return to normal? Now, everything is huge, including the list of all the comments. Help!

When I was in my late teens and twenties, those were otherwise known as horns.

Didn’t Honeymoon’s mom lose her horns on her wedding night?

My brother-in-law does this with his daughter. Once a week, they go out and have Daddy/Daughter Breakfast, where they hang out and do goofy stuff.I like that this is heart-warming without being schmaltzy or forced. Great job, Team Tracy :^)

I also appreciate the family moments between Jr. and Honeymoon. Long ago, we saw Tracy and Jr. sharing home time together once in a while, and it was great stuff!

Ah yes, the Woody Allen version. David Niven played James Bond. Woody played Jimmy Bond, Bond’s nephew, as well as being Dr. Noah, the head of SMERSH. Needless to say this version of Casino Royale was not strictly faithful to the original Fleming book.

Not quite accurate. Electronic television started in the 1930s. The British had electronic TV broadcasting on a regular schedule in 1936, as did the Germans (they showed events from the 1936 Olympics in large TV viewing trucks in Berlin). If I’m not mistaken regular TV broadcasting in the United States began in 1939, and was inaugurated by FDR from the New York World’s Fair. The British and Germans shut down their TV broadcasting in 1939 when the war started while the US TV stations mostly shut down in December 1941, although some kept operating for the military throughout the war.

Moon Maid could communicate with her fellow Moon people using her antennae. She could make ice by freezing water in the palm of her hands in minutes. She seemed to be able to control her body heat because she never needed much clothes in the snow or cold weather. But what really made her dangerous was the laser beam she could release through her fingers and set anything or anyone on fire!

The first color TV had a red/green/blue mechanical color wheel in front of the CRT that turned in sync with a similar wheel on the camera, and it produced a reasonable color picture, I’m told. I don’t think it ever got to the point of home use though. Inventing the color CRT and some more electronic synchronization, and figuring out how to send all that color information in the same bandwidth as the original b/w signal finally made color TV practical.

There was all-electronic TV broadcast in New York City by NBC in 1939.

The Moon people also had telepathy. Crooks once locked Moon Maid in a bank vault, figuring it would keep her from being recharged by sunlight. She did get very weak but STILL could telepathically summon her father all the way from earth to the moon!
