Not only did Mitt Romney sign into law in Massachusetts health-care reform that resembles the Affordable Health Care Act, but he also permitted gay marriage to become law, he supports a woman’s right to an abortion, he would’ve refused to bailout the American automobile industry, effectively throwing hundreds of thousands more Americans, especially Michiganders, out of work, and he would refuse to spend a dime of federal money helping the unemployed & destitute if it meant that his taxes would rise a fraction of a cent.I cannot see most Americans choosing him over President Obama.

I hope you included republicans and democrates in your statement. Rich people do pay taxes by the way,and way more than you do.

“According to the Tax Foundation, the effective tax rate for the middle class is 0.0%, so if 9-9-9 doubled that, it wouldn’t be so bad.”The Tax Foundation either doesn’t know what it’s talking about or it’s lying out of it’s @$$. I don’t know anyone whose deductions negate their entire tax bill.

I currently pay 20% on my taxes. I’d love for those libtard math geniuses to explain how 9% is more than 20%…

Gray, if you earn money through owning money, you’re scot free under Cain. Celebrate! If you work for a living, there’s plenty of analysis of how the 9-9-9 plan dumps on the working class. I’d start at politifact.org or factcheck.org, and there was a detailed article in the New York Times from a conservative Bush appointee.

And as for the Tax Foundation quote, it’s being entirely misquoted here. Some middle class people don’t pay taxes—as long as you don’t count most taxes.

Would Mr. Cain’s “universal 9%” sales tax involve a 9% sales tax on each purchase of corporate stock? .That would slow down day-trading, commodity-trading, etc. on Wall St.— that’s for sure! .If not, how could it be called fair to charge the average family that 9% on the commodities they buy ??

Would the universal 9% sales tax mean that Corporations would pay a 9% sales tax when they buy (acquire) another company?

Might lead to a lot fewer mergers, and fewer monopolies.

Someone should ask Mr. Cain about such things.
