Four years ago my 401k was fine and the economy was still humming. Three years ago, just before the election, when GWB was still the president, was when everything went into the dumper. The GOP trashed the country then, and does nothing to help since, and thinks we’ll forget about it four years later.

My Roth dropped almost dead in 2008, it’s now, finally back up to a little over what I put into it. The Dow is back up. Wall Street bonuses never dropped, gee, maybe we should look into that?

Obama is doing MUCH better than he was four years ago. He got a Nobel Peace Prize for winning a presidential election, while having more melanin than the other guy. He’s stumbled and bumbled his way through this term, and yet still 40% of the public think that he’s doing a good job (that is an unimaginably HIGH number of people who aren’t paying any attention). He still has the whole of the media carrying his water, he has more money in his campaign war chest than anyone has EVER had (and he’s still non-stop campaigning for more). He must be thinking his lucky stars that so much is going his way. I mean, if he were a Republican, his poll numbers would have completely tanked, and we’d all be musing about who’d be replacing him in 2012, rather than the scant possibility of that happening.

Four years ago? 2007? Yes, much better.

Looking at the “republican” candidates being offered, as Danziger does today, I question why the “righties” have a “problem” with Iran, yet want a theocracy just as dangerous here in the U.S.. We’re getting, too slowly, out of Iraq and Afghanistan, if we had more support for jobs, and economic recovery from obstructionist “republicans” in Congress, AND stronger leadership from the Democrats, we’d be a LOT better off than four years ago, and not just a “little better off”.
