I’ve said it before- the R’s might be the best proof of flaws in evolutionary theory. Over time we should be improving but over thousands of years we went from Plato, Aristotle, Socrates, Pythagoras, Euclid, Ptolemy to ….Bush, Palin, Perry, Bachmann…..we’re not moving forward.

I’m curious, are you saying that evolution and christianty are mutually exclusive?

I don’t care about the child’s question, (I don’t approve to invole children in politics, it’s rather pathetic to do so). I’m asking you, is it your view, that if you are a christian, you cannot believe that evolution is true?

Sheesh, i was just curious as to where you stand, no ‘gotcha’ involved. (paranoid much?)

It was just a question. I wanted to know what your convictions on the subject were, if any. There is no shame in saying ‘i don’t know’.

Perry started out a rather moderate Democrat, switched parties, fine, stayed somewhat moderate, fine, but is now appealing to the “baser” instincts in the American population of fear supported by myth and “faith”, not reality or facts. That does represent a devolution, and radicalization we don’t need.

Good sweet Christ. You don’t teach creationism in science class because it isn’t science. It’s not “silencing” religious people to teach what we have painfully learned since a bunch of nomadic goatherders wrote down the Old Testament. It IS silencing science, as creationism explicitly denies a host of scientific issues, and is incompatible with modern (say, the last CENTURY) biological science.Teach religion in religion class. Teach science in science class. Period. The “teach the controversy” nonsense is merely cover for telling children that creationism is actually science. It isn’t. Read the rather impressive court decision in Kitzmiller v Dover, crafted by a Republican judge appointed by George Bush. If we were really going to do that, we might as well teach the Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster.

If this cartoon was drawn in reference to Obama, all hell would break loose and the cartoonist would be call every name under the sun, including gasp racist. But a liberal can get away with it, even while disparaging Christians.
