Jarvis is “The One”. He’s got the cloak, and everything. Lookout TC and EOTFMADC.

I guess that particular “secret handshake” is lots easier for four-fingered cartoon characters than for us ordinary five-fingered schlubs….

Take the Google search Sedgewick! You really don’t want to have to go through that initiation. and neither does the goat

So I googled, and got – nada… truly a secret organization. I always suspected that there was more to Jarvis than the facade he presents.

I’ve always liked Jarvis. A man servant who puts up with Sedgewick 24/7 has to be made of tough stuff.

Why do cartoonist use only 3 fingers and the thumb?

^ You have to undergo a highly classified initiation to find that out.Or just try drawing some comics-sized characters with 4 fingers and thumb.

This is all an elaborate prank by Jarvis. I’m sure of it.

I don’t know whether this has been debunked or not, but the oft-told story is that Walt Disney started the three-fingers-and-a-thumb convention with Mickey Mouse. With animated characters, not only is a three-fingered hand quicker and easier to draw (which adds up, when you’re doing it hundreds and hundreds of times), but its motions “read” more clearly than a four-fingered hand. It caught on, even with human characters as well as animals, and spread from animated cartoons to static cartoons.

I am embarrassed to admit that during fits of pique I’ve been known to communicate using hands as quick code.

We’re none of us perfect. :(

It’s diabolical. That’s the only word to describe this week’s strip.
