So that’s what you have to do to get zinged for saying something stupid. Don’t say it!

Nobody seemed to find any humor in the left’s assertions that George W. Bush caused Hurricane Katrina, even though it was a charge that was leveled, in all seriousness, several times by his political opponents. To say nothing of those who blamed Bush’s policies as president for a recession that started prior to his election.

Obama has been blamed and criticized for lots and lots of things. But not for anything he did not do and for which he did not deserve criticism, and certainly not for anything as stupid as this.

In fact, about the only stupid claim I heard about the earthquake was that oil or gas drilling had caused it.

It was caused by Cantor finally thinking to himself: “Maybe we SHOULD raise taxes”.

tiz, where do you find the assertions that anyone blamed Katrina on Bush. The federal response is another story.

Sounds just like what happened with Bush, Katrina, and the liberals…only difference is that this blame-Obama scenario didn’t play out in reality, while the Blame-Bush scenario did happen.Short-memory, small-minded liberals…

Don’t you know that Obama personally saved million of lives during the earthquake while the Republicans were on their break? Obama used his messianic powers to keep the earthquake below Richter 6 and therefore saved or created many lives. And he’s still lowering the sea levels, too.

“…meanwhile, President Barack Obama blamed the earthquake on the previous administration, saying that he inherited the consequences of it.”

Nobody — I mean NOBODY — blamed George W. Bush for Hurricane Katrina, and it is absolutely surreal that people on this list are claiming liberals did. What he was rightly blamed for was a slow federal response to that crisis, followed by serious problems in the actual implementation. (Then there was his mom’s comment, but let that pass.) This slow response came in large part because Bush gutted FEMA, which had been one of the most effective agencies in the government (a Clinton legacy) and put a totally unqualified political donor in charge. Were there other issues on the local level? Yes. But let’s straighten out the Bush issue right now.

Pat Robertson just said it, the crack is the crack in the Washington Monument a sign from god that we’ve lost our way? Yep- it’s truly a sign, that anyone listening to these nut cases and trying to blame “natural events” on something living on a cloud (hmmm, is THAT the new internet thing from Microsoft?) is a tad deranged. Now, as to the AFTER effects of presidents on vacation during a HUGE PROJECTED AND KNOWN hurricane, as opposed to being on vacation when a totally unexpected- and essentially non-damaging (as in no injuries or fatalities) event occurs- right, we’re all doomed if we don’t by the evangelical blather.

^Uh, howie, he also pulled the SEABEES out of Mississippi who were helping with recovery, and sent them to sit on their butts in Qatar instead. It WASN’T just Louisiana. That is also just ONE example of many ways the Bush administration, meaning him AND HIS APPOINTEES screwed up, before, and after the hurricane. Yep, Bush can walk on water, just like the Ninth Ward residents.

In re yesterday’s cartoon & discussion:

Putzhill, you didn’t argue against a single point that yesterday’s cartoon made about Governor Perry. Instead, you compared him to President Obama, and you consider him to be a terrible president. Thus, you conceded all the points about Perry.

Like all supporters of Bush-Dick, you have yet to apologize for getting us into two pointless wars, one dreadful recession, and a ballooning federal debt. Yet, you think that you have political acumen? This is the equivalent of the surgeon who kills all his patients yet calls himself a good doctor.

As for today’s cartoon, it is a mild joke, but aimed at the wrong target. It is the rightstream media that blame Obama for everything.

…and as for the cartoon, it’s an obvious exaggeration to make a valid point. Those here who’s minds were made up about him before they even heard his name for the first time, aren’t going to understand.
