Matt, the Jack-in-the-Box fell from the sky on the last day of class before Summer break. Widespread panic ensued.

I get the feeling Miss Bliss’s idea for “total theater” is going to unfold more like “total war.” Burn the crops, take no prisoners, leave no stone on top of another stone.

On a side note, a few summers back I watched a production by a grade-school Commedia dell’Arte workshop. The kids were more Petey’s age than Alice’s, but it was a hoot. (I didn’t have a kid in it, but I knew the instructor.) One young boy in particular, who was playing il Capitano, is destined for stardom, IMO. He absolutely commanded the stage every time he stepped onto it.

I would dearly love to see one of those 5th grade plays. The joy and unintended comedy would be marvelous.

Mais où sont les clowns d’antan?Who cares, Matt? The threat has been neutralized, the suspense (literally) has been broken.
