Why hasn’t Ramirez added his two cents on the huge Rupert Murdoch scandal? All he offers up are the same old tired Obama smears. You know the Republican cartoonists are quaking in their boots over Murdoch, and the possible fall of his lie empire.
While Bush did overspend (with the willing help of a Democrat congress that whined he didn’t spend enough), did you sleep through the last 2.5 years of origiastic spending by Obama and Co.? 40% of current Federal spending is borrowed. Do you run your personal finances like that?
The busboy hasn’t cleared away the trash and debt “Reaganomics” left on the table, so there’s no room for dessert, because too much of that debt was accumulated on the deserts of Iraq and Afghanistan.
Geez…it’s a comic, take it easy. Plus, all you libs need to quit blaming Bush II and learn a little about the US Constitution. All bills for revenue generation and spending come from the House ‘o Representin’. And Obama was in the Senate when Bush was spending away, so he’s complicit. BUT, no leader in the history of the world has amassed debt like this guy, so be careful casting your stones.
I’m by no means a Bush fan, and agree wholeheartedly that he spent like a drunken sailor, but several of these claims just don’t fly.Healthcare reform doesn’t even come into play until after the 2012 election, so no money has been spent on that. The stimulus was a bad idea, on top of another bad idea (TARP, which Bush approved, and Obama voted for while in the Senate), and BTW, one of the two wars was winding down when Obama came into office. When you state that he has to clean up a mess, I would agree, however, you don’t clean up an 8 trillion dollar deficit by expanding it by another 6 trillion.I don’t solely blame Obama, both parties have colluded to create this mess, but don’t defend the indefensible.
I like the comment “don’t defend the indefensible…”Perhaps much of our fiscal policy is just that. Here’s the rub, however: how can it be fixed? Methinks the economy is merely a run-a-way train, headed full tilt boogie at a mountain. Sure, we can speculate and toss blame around…but, at the end of the day, it’s just a matter of time till we’re embroiled in our own Greece-like affair. Question is: is it sooner or later? Neither side has a handle on fixing things since all political pundits have so many special interests to “reward” for their ascent into the political nightmare.Yikes and sigh… -Steve http://about.me/booksatthebeach
