Holly: I don't WANT to be old enough to help! It's only vacation if YOU do everything!! Holly: I mean... Val: I am SO looking forward to the day you're a mom.

She can choose not be mom. Some people don’t have nack or patients for it.

My sister told her two sons that she hoped they had sons just like each other. (shudder, that’s scary)

Holly’s famous words. Your too young though. You are old enough to help out.

Holly sounds exactly like my 8 year old (which is scary for me). It is hard to grow up and take on responsibility. I recall not liking it either. I remember when my mom stopped making me breakfast and lunch, and I had to fend for myself. All of a sudden, my meals got much smaller.

When my daughter was small and had done something exasperating, I’d tell her, “Someday, I hope you have a daughter just like you.” I can still remember her expression when she finally got it.

My kids had their problems, but were mostly good (and I gave them tasks from early on because their father made them so close together in spite of all I could do- until I insisted that we could not afford more than 4 and he let me have a ligation) He came to me the day after to say that I was no longer a woman and now he could have others- any wonder I later divorced him (as soon as I could support them on my own?

And I’m proud of all of them and what they have accomplished!
