My mime phase didn’t start until college. My friends gave me the silent treatment. At first I thought they had just caught on to my antics. Then I caught on to theirs. Mime is not to reason why … etc.

In high school during the early 70’s, my social sciences (oxymoron??) teacher, Mr. Simon, had a pony-tail and encouraged his students to be self-sufficient, eat only healthy foods and nuture the earth with sustaining practices. He was probably the main reason I’ve always been a “non-conformist.” He allowed us to “wave our freak flags!!” He was far ahead of his time!
Last I heard in the 90’s, Mr. Simon was a realtor in a mountain community. He was truly a rennaisance man!
