The elephant is obviously pointing to a clue! He has spotted something which Dick has overlooked. Some trivial piece of evidence whose importance will be revealed later on in the spinning of this spine-numbing, I mean tingling tale!
I predict that the elephant will actually be the key to Dick’s unraveling this knotted mystery!
Doesnt the curtain behind Dick in the 1st panel look like a big giant mouth with pointy teeth? The same mouth looks like it was about to eat Dick yesterday as well.
