Do you feel just the littlest tinge of guilt, Tracy?

Your car Tracy? You can justify your bumbling and the death (murder?) of someone by saying, “Bummer, she should have driven a hybrid”? Perhaps you should call for back-up now, the bad stuff is over, they’ll show.

The whole point of hybrids is they use electric AND petrol/diesel, hence the name.

The concept of a car running miles on drops of fuel is also flawed. If the fuel contained so much energy a drop could run it for mile, the energy would blow the car up with the force of a large bomb. As soon as the fuel is burnt in the cylinders, it’s spent, all on one revolution of the drive shaft, even when atomised with the carburettor/injectors.

Tracy feeling guilt? Nahh… getting the best out of your engine is MUCH more important.

Everyone is so struck by the idiocy of the storyline that no one has noticed the blatant error in the last panel?

“It’ll 60 miles on drops of fuel.”

Are you reading these comments, Locher? If so, contact me and I’ll start editing your sorry prose for free.

(I feel confident that there’s no way Locher reads these comments…)

I think what it says in the last panel is, “It’ll GO miles on drops of fuel…” Either way this storyline was heavily flawed (what else is new?) and it’s time to get a real writer on this strip.

I thought it was Noll’s car that could go miles on drops of fuel. And for those who were asking about 911, they were called a few days (weeks?) ago - they should be showing up soon.

Cosgrove: “So much fuel on board. Glad my car’s a Hybrid”

Instesd of wasting a daily strip to “toady up” to those with fuel economy interests (the high price crisis is over)… and have Tracy philosophizing like an Al Gore clone, walk over to the snow bank to see by her tracks in which direction the “perp” walked away! Call in another APB and did Tracy as he chased Angelorious into the town pass 911 and the Ambulance going on their way out to Dr. Noll’s house? (DL: “Gosh! I plain forgot”) Oh! a further thought as Tracy contemplates the virtues of “new fuel” against the blaze from a full tank of her regular car gas … remember the “explosion” of “New Gas” from a test tube in the Doctor’s house with all those doors flying around the neighborhood! Think a few drops of Noll’s fuel in a crash would have taken out Cosgove’s and YOUR car as well! WHY do you THINK Noll in his Antique car was so alarmed on 12-20-08?: “He yelled at me to get out of his way!” (Yes! for good reason)

But it was a relief to find a hidden ‘grain’ of CONSISTENCY here, particularly after I was shaken on noticing that only a few strips earlier, Diet Smith’s well known Office Building had somehow ‘miraculously’ reduced from THREE floors down to TWO, and that the sign said DS “Enterprises” rather than DS “Industries” as it had been known all along!

Perhap’s Locher’s next villain should be called “FOCUS”. Think of what it may do for HIM (and the strip!) as he “researches” the subject!

AMAZON BOOKS is advertising a new DVD called “WATCHMAN”, the “illustration” looks like pure Dick Tracy with yellow coat AND hat. Face blacked out like a reverse “The Blank”.

It seems someone forgot to tell the Movie copy-cats that Dick Locher had discovered a better way to enhance the fashion and general aura of the Dick Tracy image by “dropping” the Hat.

Silly, silly movie makers, not taking a brilliant cue from a living genious!
